Product Review: Stanton Running Fleece Road Test with Scott Prince

Part of our new training collection, the Stanton Running Fleece is designed for those tough winter workouts. Made from waffle fleece, it will keep you warm and insulated against cold winds, with moisture wicking to help control sweat and flatlock stitching minimising irritation and chafing.

Don’t just take our word for it though. Here’s what SQD Ambassador and Australian Rugby League Star Scott Prince thought of the new Stanton when he took it out for a road test.

How did you test it?

I wore the Stanton Tech Fleece on a tough early morning run, complete with hill sprints and car dodging! It was pretty cold actually when I went out, so was happy to have the extra layer.

How did it fit and feel?

I thought the fit was good. It wasn’t restrictive at all. In fact, at some stages, it didn’t even feel like I was wearing. It felt like I only had a shirt on.

It was very light to wear, and the material was quite stretchy as well, which allowed my upper body to move freely, without the fear of tearing the garment.

Did it chafe?

I’m very pleased to say that no chafing was present.

Did it keep you warm?

It was nice and warm, so perfect for the winter morning workouts, whether it’s inside or out. It also kept me warm, without getting too stuffy or making me want to take it off.

What activity do you think it’s best worn for?

I’d probably wear the Stanton while walking or running, but it would also be a great option for an outdoor PT/training session or just heading to and from the gym.

Final thoughts?

I recommend the Stanton for the adventurous type, and also for early morning or late afternoon runners in the cooler months. I’ll definitely be wearing it myself, as it’s perfect for me for traveling. Packing it won’t be a problem as it’s not bulky at all.
