We know he’s a top rugby league player who’s played for all the major Queensland teams, represented Queensland in State of Origin as well as Australia as part of The Kangaroos. We know that he’s married with two great kids, and that he’s passionate about supporting indigenous kids to get out and active. And we know that he’s now lending his considerable skills as an assistant coach for the Brisbane Broncos. But what don’t we know about the great Scott Prince? We caught up with him to find out, and the answers were surprising:

1. He’s a keen gardener

There is nothing better than throwing on my Akubra and sunnies, popping my headphones in, and ripping into the yard, all while singing like I’m at an Ed Sheeran concert. Then, at the end of the day, kicking back with a stubbie admiring my work!

2. He has 50+ NBA singlets

As a massive fan of the NBA, I have a collection of jerseys, ranging from the greats like Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, O’Neil to the young bloods dominating today! (I’d put my total count at 50+ singlets).

3. I have metal in my arm and legs

After 16 years playing professional sport, I still have a few objects to remind me how sport can be very challenging, both mentally and physically. In particular, metal plates in my arm (repair of a broken left arm) and of course, the infamous broken legs, with the titanium rod inserted in my right leg. And no, I don’t set the alarm off at the airport security check!
